Contemporary and traditional printing on the
Vandercook Universal III letterpress includes handset type,
photopolymer plates, engraving plates and linoleum block printing;
on the intaglio press, monoprinting, transfer printing, etching
and drypoint prints; and techniques such as pochoir, digital
imaging, photography, and painting are all done at the Press,
as well as bookbinding and box making.
Proprietor, Mindy Belloff is a mixed-media
installation and book artist
with a Masters degree from New
York University and graduate work at the San Francisco Art
Institute MFA Program. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ms. Belloff
has exhibited at The Bronx
Museum of the Arts, The Sculpture Center, and PS 122 in New
York City, as well as nationally and internationally, since
1979. With over 20 years of art practice and 15 years as an
educator, her wide-ranging skills include painting, drawing,
photography, printmaking, fine letterpress printing, welding,
sculpture, installation, glass blowing, furniture making,
woodworking, writing, poetry, and book arts. In addition,
Ms. Belloff has experience as a curator, lecturer, and panel

most recent solo exhibition of book arts and prints was November
2004-January 2005 at Florida Atlantic University's Wimberly
Library, Jaffe Collection.
Ms. Belloff teaches
book arts at Studio
on the Square in NYC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and
Long Island University's Palmer School of Library Science.
She ws also an Adjunct at the New School Writing Program,
and
Visitng Artist at Pyramid Atlantic,
the Center for Book Arts, the Women's Studio Workshop, the
New York Public Library, the American Museum of Folk Art,
and Florida Atlantic University. She has taught painting and
drawing at extension programs at Cornell University, Hofstra
University, and the San Francisco Art Institute. She is available
for travel to lecture on contemporary
books arts and teach book making and printmaking workshops
as a visiting artist (please see contact information).
